Sugar Hill grows stronger when more people participate. Here's how you can make a difference.

Make a DonationCommunity Projects
Active projects where volunteers and supporters can make an immediate impact.
Neighborhood Beautification
Cleaning, planting, painting, and maintaining Sugar Hill's shared spaces. Our annual Beautification Day brings dozens of volunteers together, and smaller projects happen year-round. No experience needed — just a willingness to help.
Oral History Project
We're recording the stories of longtime Sugar Hill residents to preserve our community's living memory. Volunteers are needed to conduct interviews, assist with technology, and help organize the growing archive.
Youth Summer Enrichment
Our summer program serves youth ages 8–18 with tutoring, STEM activities, arts, sports, and community service. We need mentors, instructors, chaperones, and program assistants every summer.
Senior Outreach
Visiting homebound seniors, organizing wellness checks, coordinating with service providers, and hosting social events for Sugar Hill's elders. Compassion and a few hours a month can make a real difference.
Heritage Markers & Preservation
We're working to establish historical markers, create a heritage walking trail, and document significant sites in Sugar Hill. Research, writing, photography, and fundraising volunteers are all needed.
Community Events & Outreach
Help plan and execute holiday celebrations, heritage events, block parties, and awareness campaigns. Event coordination, cooking, setup/cleanup, and social media support are always in demand.
Investing in Our Next Generation
The young people of Sugar Hill carry forward a legacy of leadership, education, and community service.
Education & Tutoring
After-school homework help, reading programs, and academic mentoring from adults who believe in every child's potential.
STEM & Technology
Hands-on workshops in science, technology, engineering, and math — bringing 21st-century skills to Sugar Hill's young learners.
Arts & Culture
Creative expression through visual arts, music, writing, and performance — connecting youth to their heritage while building new skills.
Leadership Development
Youth council, community service projects, and mentoring relationships that help young people become tomorrow's leaders.
Honoring Those Who Built Sugar Hill
We stand on the shoulders of educators, ministers, organizers, and families who gave everything to build this community.
The Sugar Hill Neighborhood Consortium is developing a Heritage Honor Roll to recognize the individuals and families who shaped this neighborhood. If you would like to nominate someone — a teacher, church leader, civil rights advocate, business owner, or community elder — please contact us.
Their stories are our foundation. Honoring them is not just remembrance — it's an act of love and responsibility toward the generations who will follow.
